Council has recently begun a $7 million upgrade of the Birkdale landfill and waste transfer station. The works will see closed landfill cells rehabilitated and re-vegetated, as well as the construction of a new gate-house bypass lane.
The Birkdale Waste Transfer Station will remain open, however users may experience delays at times, particularly when construction material is being delivered to the site.
