Couples looking to take some of the stress out of the planning and decisions for their wedding need look no further, with the Redlands Coast Wedding Trail event this weekend designed to guide, support and inspire them ahead of their big day.

Redland City Deputy Mayor Julie Talty said the Redlands Coast Wedding Trail was a one-day annual event, held this Sunday 19 June, designed to promote the Redlands Coast as a wedding destination.

“We know that thousands of couples have fallen in love with Redlands Coast as a destination or venue for their special day over the years and the Wedding Trail is designed to make it easier for couples in the throes of planning a wedding with a one-stop shop of venues and providers for their nuptials and celebrations,” Cr Talty said.

“The one-day showcase will see many partnerships formed between local businesses such as several key wedding or event venues, popular photographic locations and local wedding industry businesses.

“Our Redland Coast Wedding Trail event offers couples, who may be time-poor, a single day where all our key venues are open and showcasing their location and services, with supporting local industry members also exhibiting at these spaces.

“Redlands Coast is blessed with so many naturally beautiful locations which are Instagram-worthy and there are so many professional and passionate people working in the sector who want to ensure that couples have a wedding day which is special and memorable for all of the right reasons.

“It’s a day when the Redlands Coast wedding industry gets to ring the bell and to really shine.”

The Redlands Coast Wedding Trail is the brainchild of three local businesswomen Nicci Payouw, Romana Saeheng and Melissa Aitken.

They were keen to collaborate and get more fellow industry professionals involved in a unique wedding showcase, which was the trigger for the launch of the concept, which Redland City Council supports with a $5000 sponsorship.

They said they believed that by supporting their fellow industry members and collaborating as a community, they could help to build up the wedding industry and benchmark the Redlands Coast as a wedding destination.

“We are all proud Redlands Coast residents who love our region and love our industry and we believe that a thriving industry overall can only be an amazing thing for everyone individually too,” Mrs Payouw said.

“The wedding industry was hit hard by the pandemic and we saw many industry friends fall victim to the financial fallout from it.

“Some of us, however, were able to move with the restrictions and continue to build our businesses, and some of us thrived.

“So we wanted to ‘pay-it-forward’ and we thought a collaboration like the Redlands Coast Wedding Trail would be the perfect start.”

The Redlands Coast Wedding Trail aims to bring engaged couples from outside the Redlands Coast to the region, and allow them to explore all the wedding options it has to offer while also showcasing some of the most scenic parks and community areas, including beaches, reserves and waterfront spaces.

It offers opportunities to view and meet with providers of the full range of services, including venues, photographers, celebrants, cakes, dresses, hair and makeup, transport, florists, gifts, entertainers and even pop-up wedding experts.

Couples can follow the Redlands Coast Wedding Trail which features a dozen venues, event spaces, restaurants and public spaces across Cleveland, Raby Bay, Wellington Point and Mount Cotton.

The Redlands Coast Wedding trail venues are:

  • Sirromet Winery (attend the grand opening and collect your free goodie tote)
  • The Carriage Room
  • Cotton Corner
  • Redland Bay Golf Club

  • The Grand View Hotel
