Exhibition celebrates Redland Art Gallery Collection

A diverse selection of works from the Redland Art Gallery (RAG) Collection will form the next exhibition at Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba from 14 January 2023.

Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said A Time and Place: Celebrating 20 years of the RAG Collection would feature artworks from the early twentieth century through to present day.

“Council is committed to resourcing and facilitating the acquisition and management of a quality visual arts, craft and design collection,” Cr Williams said.

“The RAG collection showcases the diversity and uniqueness of Redlands Coast’s heritage, culture and identity and currently houses more than 750 artworks produced by more than 250 artists.

“These include local, emerging, established, early settler and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

“This special exhibition reflects upon the social, political and environmental history of the area, acknowledges the successes of Quandamooka artists, and celebrates the natural beauty of Redlands Coast.”

A Time and Place: Celebrating 20 years of the RAG Collection will be at Redland Art Gallery, Capalaba from Saturday 14 January until Tuesday 7 March 2023.

A floor talk from Redland Art Gallery curator Kylie Spear and light lunch will be held at noon on Thursday 2 February 2023.
