Birkdale Waste Transfer Station will be closed on weekdays from 19 to 30 October as part of the construction of a bypass lane. The site will be open as usual on the weekend of 24-25 October.
The bypass lane is designed to accommodate increasing traffic flow at peak times due to population growth and site visitation. Council has made the decision to close the Birkdale tip for this period to reduce traffic management risks to the public and to ensure that project outcomes are delivered on time and within budget.
Residents can use the Redland Bay Waste Transfer Station at 761-789 German Church Road during this period. Please note Redland Bay accepts all residential waste and commercial greenwaste.
